Well, class today was about SIGTRAN and M3UA. Nice topic (refer to yesterday post :P ). Class finished on 12.00. On 2pm we had a visit to ZTE HQ along with another trainees from other countries. There, we're shown about ZTE market, their products from handset into next generation network. Short trip to the factory and so on. After 1 hour visit, next destination was Hua Qiang Bei.

This what I hate when travelling (in Indonesia we call it 'klayapan') downtown with too many people (8 men 2 ladies). Disaster... I think i wont go anywhere again except with only 4 people. And not with the ladies.

Rara is a very good example for a cooperative travel mate. She's easy going, no complicated mind when going to certain place. Unlike this ladies, full of mumbling and so on and so on.
*arrgghhh*

Hours in Hua Qiang Bei we, in this case was me, spent for nothing except sitting on the KFC and waiting for a minivan which bring us back to the university.

I failed to get Agus Suyanto's monopod and some IT stuff I've planned with Aang to find.

Shenzhen The Series: Day #3

2nd day training.
Today we're learning about SS7. Interesting topic because i almost know nothing about it. Just knew a little bit from network operation people. Our trainer is Zaka from Pakistan. He's speaking English very well, so it made class more comfortable :P

Like usually, training break on 12.00-14.00. Continue after that until 17.00.
Some people of my class plan to go to Dong Men but i couldn't join them. There were many SMS and missed calls in my cellphone. Means there's problem back in HQ. *sigh*

Gimme break guys .... I need to concentrate here with my training and you just messed it up *&%@)%)@.

Got dinner in the 2F building called Leisure Zone (there are also room for playing tennis table, poker, chess, billiard, karaoke even a gym). Back to my hotel and again ... be patient with the worst internet connection I've ever used in my life.

I managed to send a 500kb file after midnight ... you can imagine that. It's "broadband" connection they said. Pheww ...

Hmmm, day has changed ... MU has destroyed Roma 7-1 and won 8-3 on aggregat. That's enough for now, i need to sleep. Class begin on 9.00.

Shenzhen The Series: Day #2

Well, ZTE place actually is nice. Except the fact that is far away from downtown (+/- 25km), some people might feel a little bit isolated. Specially thos old babies .... *sigh*

Training start with introduction to GSM technology and then continue to the introduction of SMSC. Dont ask the trainer to have well english speaking skill like Hongkong people, but so far we can follow him. Most of :P

There are some terms and understanding that have been mixed up. We need to ask the trainer to make reference of every term he used with ITU, 3GPP and standards from other international telecommunication group.

Finally, we went to downtown. Get to know with the real life in Shenzhen. Yes, it is a busy and crowded city. My chinesse friend Yuan Cheng took us to a restaurant for dinner. Nice food, at least I eat 2 bowls of noodles + vegetables + chicken + fish :P He made fat every time i went to China with him.

Good news, internet connection is getting better today :) Horeeeee
Just finish testing voicechat via Y!M with Derry and my lovely girl Rara. Have no problem talking with Derry's Y!M, but couldn't do the same with Rara's :(

Shenzhen The Series: Day #1

Like usually, flying with Cathay Pacific is always good. Nice food, nice flight attendants.
Arrive on Hongkong around 2pm local time. After finishing all imigration stuff, got into the bus and continue the trip to Shenzhen. It took around 90-120 minutes. First stop in Hongkong border Immigration.

Next stop is China-Shenzhen Immigration ... 180 degree different from Hongkong. Phew .. old building, queue line messed up, and public toilet which can make you die just by its smell. There is a joke ... if you can smell the very very very very bad odour from public toilet .. then you're already in China mainland. Welcome :P

Shenzhen,first time here. I thought it will be another cities in China i've visited before, but it isnt. Old city industry.

We arrive at ZTE University around 5pm. Little bit cold, but it is nice weather actually. People in my groups start mumbling about the university location. They felt being placed in somekind of remote area. Middle of nowehere (no mall and place like that in radius 2km :P). I dont have problem with it. I'll just stay in Hongkong if it just for mall/shopping area. I need to learn about signalling and SMSC here.

Had dinner on 6pm, meet some guys from Iraq and Tajikistan who also have training here. Went back to hotel room and try the internet connection.

I'm impressed. Very very impressed.
For company like ZTE, the internet connection was totally and completely SUCKS!!!!!

*sigh*

Next destination: Shenzhen

Pheww .. just finished packing.
I'm going to Shenzhen for the next 2 weeks starting tomorrow :P

Masya Alloh, mereka itu ga pernah taubat apa yah? Ga punya sense of crisis .. di tengah banyaknya orang memeras keringat banting tulang menghidupin keluarga, belum lagi yang kena bencana plus harus bayar pajak pula. Ini malah duit rakyat tadi diembat oleh orang-orang dari institusi yang sampe saat ini ga guna sama sekali.
Eh ada gunanya ding ... ya itu tadi ... hambur-hamburin duit rakyat :)

Last 2 season, Xabi Alonso was well known as player with amazing shot power and accuracy. He scored many goals from long range shots. Early in this year, Stephen Taylor from make couple long shot goals. But goal of the season might goes to Paul Robinson.
Paul Robinson scored an extraordinary goal from his own half to embarrass his England rival Ben Foster in Tottenham's 3-1 victory over Watford last night. Taken a free kick from about 95 yards, the England #1 lob the ball far to the Watford's defensive area. The ball bounced over Ben Foster -his deputy in national team-. The young goalkeeper loaned from ManUtd could do nothing but watching the ball went in helplessly.

Long Lost Friends

world is indeed so small :P

Last night i worked overtime (again ... ) doing system migration from one data center to another. Feel a little bit boring, so i logged in to my friendster. Read messages, send birthday cards, etc etc. Then i search for whoever graduated from SD Banjararum 3. So I choosed search by school, enter Banjararum as keyword and then the list came out .. about 3 pages.
My eyes bumped into a nickname which was so familiar. Zubeth. Check on her profile, same SD, same SMP. Check on her age, yah .. it should be her. Then i sent her a message to confirm.
This morning i got reply ... it is her !!!! wahahahahahaha. Zubethhhhh (it as Jubeth actually) how are you, Sis ? Last time we met should be in 94 .. the day we graduated from SMPN 01 Singosari. So it's about 13 years now.
Gosh, just after i sent you that message, i feel like having flash back to the days in SD and SMP :)
FYI, Jubeth was always be number #1 in SD since 4th - 6th grade if i'm not mistaken. Bener ga, Beth ? Heuehueuehuehueu *yawn*

A Dark Morning in March

This morning, an airplane from Garuda Indonesia Airways (GA 200) caught fire as it landed at Yogyakarta. Based on TV report, there was sparkling fire ignited from front wheel when it's landing. The plane couldn't stop until the end of the runway then it burned. Some say the fire came from both part of the wings and also from tail (liputan6.com).
The Boeing 737-400 carried 140 passengers. It's reported that 76 people survived, with 66 taken to hospitals. The rest is still unknown. But it's also reported (i'm not sure it's officially or not) that dozens of passenger burnt to death in front area of the plane.

*sigh*

Liverpool finally made the way to the UCL quarter final. I hope MU will also join Liverpool.

Upcoming MMS2Blogger.com v3.0

I was trying to send MMS about Indonesian Playboy Magazine couple days ago. Normally, the MMS would appear in this blog as a new entry. You can see my previous MMS post below. It did not appear and I also received no SMS notification.
Eww, somethin's gone wrong...
Try to login to blogger.com and then I found the cause why my mms post did not appear in my blog. It was because I have migrate my old blogger account to the new one (using Google account). Aaarrggghhh, I forgot 'bout it. Now, I'm reading all documentation I could found (via google, of course) to develop new version to accommodate this condition. New version will use Google Data (GData) API instead of Blogger API or Atom API which are being used in my MMS2Blogger.com application.
Hmm, no more Gundam for this weekend....

Hong Kong - Kembang Api - Tahun Baru

Hong Kong ... yah gitu-gitu ajah sih kotanya. Salah satu keberhasilan Inggris mengubah gugusan pulau karang menjadi salah satu kota yg menjadi sentra ekonomi dunia. Namun walo hanya gugusan pulau karang, Hong Kong tetap menjadi daya tarik wisatawan. Mulai mengunjungi Disneyland (yang super-duper-boring IMHO) hingga wisata shopping. Nah salah satu magnet wisata Hong Kong akan ditampilkan akhir minggu ini.

Jadi kebetulan kamu saat ini sedang di Hong Kong, jangan pulang sebelum tanggal 19 Februari yah :P Tanggal 19 Februari nanti sekitar jam 8 malam akan ada pertunjukan akbar pesta kembang api dalam rangka menyambut Chinese New Year, tahun Babi (yuck) :P

Seperti biasa, pesta kembang api ini akan diadakan di Victoria Harbour, antara Central dan Tsim Sha Tsui. Tahun kemarin ajah lebih dari 35ribu orang ngumpul di sini, jadi kalo emang mo nonton jangan sampe telat atau datang mepet waktu. Selain penuh orang, lalu lintas juga akan ditutup. Jadi perhatikan benar pengumuman-pengumuman yang ada.

Pesta kembang api yang dikenal sebagai Lunar New Year Fireworks Display adalah acara tahunan yang diajakan sejak sekitar tahun 1982. Kenapa tahun ini diadakan tanggal 19, padahal Imlek kan jatuhnya tanggal 18? Karena ya karena (dangdut deh) pesta kembang api ini emang diadakan setiap hari kedua Imlek. Hari pertama mereka pasti sedang ritual merayakan imlek di kuil atau rumah bersama keluarga masing-masing lah. Selain itu, 3 hari pertama Imlek jadi hari libur kalo di Hong Kong.

Sebenarnya sih, kembang api dilarang di Hongkong untuk alasan keamanan. Nah tahun 1982 lalu, sebuah perusahaan bernama Jardine Matheson menyeponsori sebuah festival kembang api dalam rangka merayakan ulang tahunnya yang ke-150. Nah even ini ternyata mendapat respon yang sangat bagus dari publik. Jadilah sejak itu pesta kembang api ini menjadi acara tahunan di Hong Kong, dan diadakan lebih spesifik lagi untuk menyambut Chinese New Year.

Yes, a temple in the middle of shopping area :P You'll feel the same when visiting Yu Yuan Garden in Shanghai. Almost mighnight, less people walking around the area, weather below 0 degree celcius. Phew ...

Beijing

Leaving Nanjing this afternoon. Arrive at Beijing, -2 celcius outside the airport. Well still OK.
Go straight to A Fun Ti for dinner and watching show from Xinjiang people. It's Friday, traffic jam is everywhere. No much different with Jakarta :P
Lucky got table in the restaurant and order some Xinjiang food. It's crowded inside. Maybe because it's Friday night, weekend. So ppl choose to spent the night in restaurant or other similar places along with their friends.
The food was so good, the show also. Start from traditional music, kungfu and very very pretty dancers :P Lucky me, i brought Decy's handycam with me so i could take some shoots :P One of the pretty dancer try to put a big snake in my shoulder. HUaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, I hate any kind of reptils. Please.
So an old mand win the prize, going to the stage with the pretty snake dancer and got Xinjiang hat + tshirt :P
Went to hotel around 10pm. one hour later i went outside with Yuan Chen, Hu Sin and Aang for a walk. Getting colder and windy in the street ... brrrrrrr, -6 in a sudden. Huaaaaaa, forgot to bring scarf but thanks to my 'astronout' jacket for keeping me alive :P

Trip to Nanjing

Yup, today I'm leaving Hong Kong to Nanjing via KA 812. It's a breezy day in Hong Kong and I hope Nanjing weather will not be worse :P (Checked in net a while a go, almost 0 degree there ... pheww). I'll doing some system testing there.
Ah, and I also plan to go to Beijing. It's snowing there, and I never saw snow whole of my life :P I hope the test will go smoothly, finished all reports and i can be relax for a while :P
I'll write again after arriving on Nanjing. Hope can be online from there :P

Nah, di tahun 2007 tang baru berjalan belum sampe 40 jam ini, Indonesia sudah diwarnai oleh peristiwa spektakuler. Sebelum tahun baru, KM Senopati Nusantara jurusan Dumai-Semarang karam di laut Jawa akibat terjangan ombak raksasa. Simpang siur jumlah penumpang ada yang bilang 540 ada yang bilang 640 makin membuat keluarga korban kalut karena ketidakjelasan informasi mengenai status korban dari pihak terkait. Korban mulai ditemukan, dengan posisi penemuan bergeser hingga lebih dari 100 mil ke arah Gresik.
Malam tahun baru di Maluku, seorang oknum polisi beserta beberapa temannya menganiaya sipil hingga cidera cukup parah. Emang tugas sampingan mereka itu menganiaya yah? Jadi mana tuh semboyan yang nirip 911 nya amrik, To Serve and Protect ? Melayani dan Melindungi? Memang sih ini cuman katakanlah 3 orang oknum, tapi kalo ditotal dari Sabang sampe Merauke, total oknum bang**t kayanya gini buanyak banget. Dah rahasia umum lah.
Di Pontiakan, seorang oknum Polri mati dianiaya 7 oknum TNI gara-gara wanita. Ternyata oknum TNI itu pengecut yah ? Bisanya keroyokan, kalo di suruh perang beneran paling dah terkencing-kencing di celana dan membelot ke musuh. Oh iya, ini bukan kali pertama di Pontianak, taon 1998 lalu kalo ga salah malah markas polisi di sana diserbu dengan kendaraan lapis baja. So pathetic .... komandannya ga becus bina anak buah.
Berita menyedihkan tentang kecelakaan kembali menyentak. Saya yang terkapar karena batuk berat ga bisa ngapa-ngapain selain mantengin tipi dan laptop!. Hehehehe, jalur internet dah rada sembuh. Pesawat Adam Air Jakarta-Surabaya-Manado hilang kontak dengan pihak bandara diseputaran Sulawesi Barat. Kontak terakhir dilakukan dengan checkpoint Makassar. Pesawat Boeing 747-400 dengan nomor penerbangan KI 574 ini membawa sekitar 96 penumpang. Awalnya saya berharap semoga pesawatnya nyasar ajah kaya yang pernah dilakukan awal tahun 2006 lalu (inget ga AdamAir melenceng seharusnya flight ke Makassar kok landingnya malah di NTT dan sampai sekarang kasusnya sepertinya menguap). Sampai tadi pagi katanya pesawat dipastikan jatuh. Mengingat dia cuman bawa bahan bakar untuk 4 jam penerbangan.
Barusan baca di detik.com, pesawat jatuh di pegunungan daerah Sulawesi Barat. Sementara ini baru 12 penumpang dinyatakan selamat. Saya turut berduka cita untuk keluarga korban.
Rangkaian Adzab untuk bangsaku tercinta yang penuh koruptor ini rupanya masih belum berakhir .....

Mobile Blogging - Blogger.com - Sony Ericsson

Hmm, beberapa bulan ini kalau diperhatikan Sony Ericsson (SE) banyak merilis produk baru dengan iklan yang gede-gede (rata-rata setengah halaman kali) di berbagai media cetak. Beberapa temanpun juga sudah mulai beralih ponsel dari merek lama ke SE. Rata-rata yang digunakan adalah jenis candybar SE K610i atau K618. Menurut mereka dengan harga yang cukup murah meriah (kisaran 2jt) sudah mendapat fitur yang sangat lengkap.

Jika diperhatikan lebih detil lagi, fitur baru yang ditawarkan oleh SE adalah kemampuan Mobile/Picture Blogging contohnya SE K610, K800, K790. Kalo soal picture blogging, Nokia bisa dibilang sudah punya. Dengan N73 misalnya, kita dah bisa submit foto ke flickr. Jadi deh minjem K610 teman buat ngutak-atik. Awalnya sih alesan minjem krn mo maen game :P ternyata ga ada game worm yang seru itu :(

Nah, kembai ke LAPTOP :P - maksudnya kembali ke topik- hal ini mengingatkan saya akan 14 bulan yang lalu. Saat itu, untuk menyelesaikan pendidikan S1 yang ga kelar-kelar ( hehehehehe :P ) saya mengajukan skripsi dengan judul "MMS Mobile Blogging sebagai Value Added Service untuk PT Telkomsel". Nah saya udah melakukan riset sepanjang tahun 2005 dan mengimplementasikannya ke dalam blog saya sendiri ini. Teknologi yang digunakan sebenarnya tidak rumit-rumit amat (buat yang ngerti). Versi sederhana untuk skripsi saya menggunakan sebuah light httpd, sendmail, curl, php-cli. Versi kompleksnya menggunakan J2ME application yang di insall di ponsel bersangkutan.

Akhir 2004 sampe awal 2005 saya menggunakan BloggerAPI versi 1 berbasis XML-RPC yang sudah banyak diimplementasikan di berbagai blog engine maupun cms/portal. Mulai dari PHP/Postnuke sampe Wordpress. BloggerAPI ini cukup tricky karena tidak bisa set title, jadi mesti diakalin bikin tag sendiri untuk itu :P Kemudian direlease lah AtomAPI yang lebih lengkap yang kemudian saya pakai juga :)

Nah waktu judul saya ajukan ke dosen pembimbing saya saat itu, beliau langsung menyarankan saya untuk ganti judul. Nah lho? emangnya kenapa? Alasannya waktu itu topiknya terlalu berat dengan segala webservice XML-RPC protocol, SOAP dst dst dst. Jadi takutnya waktu sidang ga bisa backup kalo lagi dicecar dosen penguji. Halah, saat itu saya tetap ngeyel mo terus sampe teringat ada satu penguji yang sangat ngga rasional di mata para mahasiswa (buat alumni BL, u know who lah). Saya pun jadi bete hehehehhehe. Percuma juga kita fight sampe berbusa nerangin 1+1=2 kalo yang bersangkutan keukeuh bilang bahwa 1+1 = 17. Nah loh ? Kalo inget itu jadi pingin ketawa sendiri, teringat masa-masa ngerjain skripsi bareng-bareng Bayu-Rony-Mas Pur-Rendra di Johar Baru. Mereka dulu sempat panik waktu judul saya tidak disetujui. Santai ajah guys, I alwas made backup plans :P

Nah kenapa make MMS?
1. Waktu itu Blogger baru coba-coba bikin mobile blogging, tapi user harus ngirim picture ke go@blogger.com (MMS) dan kemudian harus login lagi untuk klaim image tadi itu. Hanya berlaku di Amrik doang.
2. MMS lebih generic, cukup perlu ponsel berkemampuan MMS dan jaringan GPRS. Tidak terikat satu branded tertentu.
3. Saya ga punya perjanjian korporat dengan Google/Blogger.com untuk eksplorasi lebih jauh kemungkinan teknis supaya dapat solusi yang lebih mudah. Akhirnya pakai open API yang udah ada ajah (BloggerAPI & Atom)
4. Saya belum bisa maenan J2ME :P
Kekurangannya terbentur pada maksimum ukuran MMS yang hanya 50kb. Dah lebih dari cukup lah untuk Nokia 6600 saya saat itu. Cukup send teks + image normal quality yang ukuran 480px.

Dan sekarang, Sony Eriksson menerapkan hal yang kurang lebih sama pada ponsel-ponsel mereka :)

Waaa, saya semangat mo bikin riset²/ngoprek² lagi neh :)

Hibernate

Pheww...

I felt my condition is in the lowest point ever.
My brain seemed want to do nothing. Almost 2 days full hibernating like a polar bear.
The only time i went out my room was last night for food and this morning. Jogging for about 2 hours. Lost my breath after made only 2 rounds in the park. Hehehehe, pathetic. Lock my self again in the room after that.

Starting tomorrow, I'll do some trial test which I've already lost interest in it. There's no point you'll spent energy doing testing on a product that "full of intrigue". I felt like being trapped in the circle of devils. Whatever, I'll just finish my task. Nothing more, nothing less. Because there's no point for putting more effort but get nothing :)

What a boring days ... and I hate it.

I need to find a way to fire up myself again ... hmm, what's interesting now ?
Arsenal beating up Chelsea and ManUtd will lead with 9 points ahead :D

Bandara 'internasional' Juanda, Surabaya. Dah sempit, crowded ga rapi, panas pula. Kaya pasar ajah.
